Oh, hi!
My name is Jessica Taylor and I’m an interdisciplinary Product Designer.
I’m really interested in working in all areas of UX and on a wide variety of products — especially those that are socially driven. I’m currently working on a project that helps to reduce packaging waste for meal kits.
My Path to UX 💖🚶🏻♀️
I’ve taken a circuitous path to get here. I’ve gone from considering Linguistics academia to studying to be a lawyer, then teaching ESL professionally, and breaking into tech by way of QA Engineering. I’m someone who is interested in many, many disparate things, so for a long time, I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to focus on that could combine my need for being analytical with being creative.
However, I’m grateful for the strange and varied path. I think it’s allowed me to learn an interesting range of hard and soft skills, eventually positioning me as a UX Designer with a unique set of experiences and perspectives, like so many of us. :)
Aside from obsessing about UX Design, I’m honing my digital art skills, learning frontend code, writing, teaching/taking some kind of course, or hiking.
